Deutsche Bank Tips: Graham DeLaet

Hit 91% of fairways on way to T2 last week but still has work to do to make the President’s Cup International Team.

Graham DeLaet bagged us a surprise 42.75 points profit on Sunday when he came from 26th to finish second at The Barclays. His final round 65 was impressive, although those in front faltering certainly helped.

The bookmakers have reacted by cutting him to 70/1 this week but there is still plenty of fat in the price. He is ranked number 1 for ball striking on tour and he hit an amazing 91% of fairways at The Barclays, which makes him one of the better players in the mid-range price bracket.

Currently tenth in the President’s Cup rankings, the 31-year-old will be desperate to emulate fellow countryman Mike Weir and become the first Canadian to feature in the International Team since 2007.

With a big incentive to do well at TPC Boston, DeLaet is a good each-way bet at 70/1 (Stan James) with ¼ odds for a top-5 finish.
