Hong Kong Open Golf Tips: Richie Ramsay

Three top-15 finishes in his last four events and sixth on tour for GIRs.

Currently 30th in the Race to Dubai, Richie Ramsay is enjoying his best season to date. He has gained five top-ten finishes and in this slightly weakened field he has a strong chance of scoring a win. The encouraging news is that he arrives in Hong Kong at the top of his game with his last four finishes being: 3-3-13-38.

Last year Ian Poulter went 56 holes without a bogey, helped in large part by his accuracy, he hit 86% of greens in regulation. The 28-year-old Scot has a very similar game, he ranks 6th on tour for GIRs and hit 87% of greens in his last tournament the Iskandar Johor Open.

When you put everything together, Ramsay is a player in form with a game that is perfectly suited to the Hong Kong Golf Club. At 50/1 (Betfred) he is overpriced and worth backing each way with ¼ odds for a top five finish.
