Golf Betting Round Up

Luke Donald and Steve Stricker warmed up for the Open Championship with wins gained in contrasting styles.

The soft greens at Castle Stuart made for good scoring on the third and final round of the Scottish Open. Luke Donald took full advantage, closing with a flawless 63 to win by four. The bookmakers were impressed by the world number one. He is a best price 12/1, from 16/1, to win next week’s Open Championship.

It was a logjam on the leaderboard behind the winner, with the likes of Angel Cabrera, Matt Kuchar and Lee Westwood all finishing inside the top 20.

It was the PGA tour that delivered the golfing drama late in the evening. Steve Stricker opened up a four shot lead by the turn, but a run of five birdies in six holes brought Kyle Stanley back into contention. When Stricker bogeyed 15 and 16, it left the world number five needing to birdie the last two holes to win.

He did just that, with the birdie on the 18th hole one of the best ever seen on the PGA tour.

John Deere Classic Round 4 Recap

It was a remarkable turnaround for Stricker and an excellent result for the Betting Bias golf tipster who flagged him up pre-tournament at 15/2. With Charles Howell finishing fifth it was a 16 point payday in the States.

Steve Stricker is a 35/1 chance with Coral to win the Open Championship.
