Gary Woodland Can Go Far
Has the power game for Quail Hollow and showed glimpses of his potential at the Masters.
Gary Woodland provided us with a roller-coaster ride at the Masters a few weeks back and I’ve signed up for more.
After a solid opening round of 70 he fell back on Friday only to rally on Saturday. He got to four-under at one stage before relinquishing shots on the back nine.
Nevertheless, it was an encouraging week for the 29-year-old as he made his 10th consecutive cut of the season and only just missed out on his seventh top-25 finish.
Woodland doesn’t have a particularly good record at Quail Hollow (MC-T68-T61) but his game looks tailor made for the course. He ranks 4th on tour for total driving, which means he hits it a long way but is accurate too.
His short game is much improved and high in confidence he rates as an excellent each-way bet at 50/1 (Paddy Power) with ¼ odds for a top-6 finish.
Extra Place – Paddy Power
Paddy Power are paying an extra place in the Wells Fargo Championship with ¼ odds for a top-6 finish.
