European Masters: Jack Singh Brar

Made his last five cuts and ranked fourth in driving accuracy en route to T37 last week. Debut at Crans-sur-Sierre but has the right skill set for the course.

Last week I wrote how this could be a big fortnight for Jack Singh Brar with two courses that are perfectly suited to his game and although he was on the periphery of matters in the Scandinavian Invitational he showed enough for me to go in again.

Singh Brar finished T37 in Gothenburg but it was a compacted leaderboard and he was only a couple of strokes outside the top-20. What I particularly liked was the fact he ranked fourth for driving accuracy because that is what you need at Crans-sur-Sierre; Matthew Fitzpatrick led the field in driving accuracy en route to victory twelve months ago.

The Englishman is ranked in the top-30 on tour for bogey avoidance, driving accuracy and GIRs and although this is his debut in Crans he’s got the right skill set. He arrives in good form with finishes of 15-50-62-14-37 on his last five starts and thanks to Rory McIlroy’s presence we are getting almost double the price we got last week.
