Clarke Open Champion
Darren Clarke is odds on to be Sports Personality of the Year after winning the Open Championship.
Northern Ireland are starting to have a monopoly on the majors, after Darren Clarke won the Open at the 20th time of asking. The Dungannon-born golfer is now 5/6 to win Sports Personality of the Year with compatriot Rory McIlroy close behind at 7/4.
The final major takes place in August, with the PGA Championship in Atlanta. McIlroy heads the market at 8/1 with Clarke an 80/1 chance. Runners-up at Sandwich, Phil Mickelson 11/1 and Dustin Johnson 28/1 also feature prominently in the betting.
