Golf: Bay Hill Round 1 Betting

Spencer Levin

Spencer Levin is 8/1 favourite with a three shot lead, after a blustery first day at Bay Hill.

Blustery conditions at Bay Hill meant scoring was difficult, with the average close to 75, three over par. A player finding it a struggle was Graeme McDowell, he was one of 13 players to shoot in the 80s.

At the top of the leader board is in form Spencer Levin, who shot a flawless six under 66. Although yet to win on tour this is the third time he has led or shared the lead after the first round. He is an 8/1 chance (from 80/1) to gain his maiden victory.

Three shots behind are fellow Americans Hunter Mahan (17/2) and Rickie Fowler (10/1). Behind them are a whole host of players fours shots back, including Phil Mickelson (9/1) and the Betting Bias golf tip Chris Couch (25/1 from 50/1).

It was another poor day for Tiger Woods who struggled in the wind. Unable to hit a single fairway on the front nine, he was lucky not to be punished more than he was. In the circumstances a one over par, 73 wasn’t a disaster. He will need to improve in the forecast benign conditions to justify his 12/1 status.
