Under 2.5 goals Premier League Acca

Most of these teams have been playing out low scoring encounters all season.

From a betting perspective, one of the most interesting things about the Premier League season so far is how many games are seeing under 2.5 goals. This week Stan James are offering a £5 free bet - win or lose - if you place an accumulator on that particular market. It seems like a great opportunity.

First up I’m taking there to be under 2.5 goals in the Manchester United-Southampton match (11/10). These look like outstanding odds when you consider that all seven Saints fixtures to date have produced under 2.5 goals. Pochettino has established a water-tight defensive unit that has only conceded two league goals in 2013-14.

Next up I’m going under again for Chelsea v Cardiff (5/4). Once again we’re getting odds against due to the assumption that the hosts will win with ease. However, the form guide does not support this assumption. Five out of seven Chelsea fixtures have stayed under 2.5 goals, including home games with Hull and Fulham.

Finally, we’re staying under for Stoke-WBA and this time the bookies are of the same train of thought (4/6). Both teams have been part of fixtures involving two goals or fewer on five out of seven occasions thus far. It was 0-0 when these sides clashed earlier in 2013 and something similar wouldn’t be a shock.

These three matches combined produce an appealing treble at odds of just under 7/1 with StanJames.*

*Exact odds are 6.89/1.
