U21 Euro 2011 Latest

Henderson in action for England U21s.

England face Ukraine needing a win keep the pressure on group rivals Spain and the Czech Republic.

It’s a big day in the Under-21 European Championships with the three tournament favourites all in action. England have to regard their clash with Ukraine as ‘must-win’ just because of the sheer strength of the others in Group B - Spain and the Czech Republic also play each other this evening.

Stuart Pearce’s young guns are 3/4 with StanJames to take the three points following on from their 1-1 draw with Spain on Sunday. Ukraine lost 1-0 to the Czech Republic in their opener but at 9/2 with SkyBet, they have plenty of full international experience in their squad to call upon. First up on Wednesday are outright favourites Spain, 4/6 to win the match, against another hotly fancied side in the Czech Republic, set at 9/2 with Boylesports to cause an upset. Expect all the tournament odds to shake violently after these two big games.

Group A has already developed a stage further with Switzerland topping the group with two wins from two. Although all but assured of their spot in the semi-finals already, the Swiss are still available at 5/1 with PaddyPower to go all the way. Hosts Denmark are best placed to join them in the final four after beating Belarus 2-1 on Tuesday night. They are still tied on three points with those opponents, but a final group game against Iceland looks more favourable than the Belarusians’ clash with the Swiss.
