Transfer Deadline Day

Transfer Moves

We examine the latest betting to see which players are moving and which are staying put. Updated through the day.

9.25 UPDATE

Luka Modric 1/6 to stay at Spurs
Harry Redknapp announced he was 1,000,000% certain that Modric would stay at Spurs. The bookmakers aren’t so certain, but the Croatian playmaker has been cut to 1/6 from 8/13, an indication that he is staying put.

Gary Cahill 4/9 to leave during transfer window
Tottenham are in pole position to sign the Bolton defender; the odds on Cahill moving to White Hart Lane are 5/6 according to Paddy Power. Arsenal, who had been his most likely destination all summer, are now 8/1.

Peter Crouch 13/8 to join QPR according to Skybet
There has been plenty of interest in the Spurs’ striker but Stoke 9/2 and Sunderland 1/2 are both on the drift. QPR are proving popular, they are 13/8 to sign Crouch, having been as big as 10/1 yesterday; a significant market move.

9.35 UPDATE

Frank Ribery odds-on to stay at Bayern
The Sun report Chelsea could make a deadline day move for Frank Ribery. The betting suggests this won’t bear fruit. The French winger is 1/4 to stay at Bayern according to Skybet.

Joe Cole and Scott Dann certain to move
Two transfer certainties according to the betting are Joe Cole’s move to Lille, 1/7 to be completed, and Scott Dann’s switch to Blackburn, 1/12 to happen.

10.46 UPDATE

Bellamy to London but which club?
Most people had forgotten Craig Bellamy, perhaps even his own manager, but he looks to be on his way on deadline day. QPR are 5/6 favourites to sign him but Tottenham are close behind at 7/4. Best odds both with Skybet.

Villa in for Joe Cole
Aston Villa have been cut to 4/1 to sign Joe Cole having been 10/1 earlier in the morning. Lille are still 1/4 favourites but they could be gazumped.

12.25 UPDATE

Sneijder cut in betting to leave Inter.
It is now almost 50:50 whether Wesley Sneijder leaves Inter. He is 4/7 to stay and 5/4 to leave during the transfer window according to Stan James.

Cole Favourite to sign for Villa
As brought to you earlier it looks like Aston Villa have stolen Joe Cole from under Lille’s noses. He is 2/5 with Skybet to join the midlands club.

13.26 UPDATE

Gary Cahill 1/7 to join Spurs.
The odds on the Bolton defender moving to White Hart Lane have been slashed to 1/7 from 4/7 with Skybet.

Bellamy to QPR 4/6
QPR are favourites to sign Craig Bellamy, but Liverpool at 6/4 and Tottenham are 5/1 are still possible destinations.

18.21 UPDATE

Mikel Arteta is just 1/2 to leave Everton and he is reportedly in talks with Arsenal.
The Spanish midfielder was 8/13 to leave at the start of the day but those odds just keep getting cut as the Gunners continue their late mission to spend.

Gary Cahill is 5/4 with PaddyPower to sign for Spurs.
The odds a few hours ago suggested this was a done deal but Harry Redknapp is running out of time. But Scott Parker is signed.

Craig Bellamy is 1/8 to re-join Liverpool with StanJames.
He looked poised for QPR for long parts of the day but that’s a 5/1 shot now. A classic day for rumours going nowhere after Joe Cole did sign for Lille on loan (not Villa).

Deals not happening with Sneijder who is 1/8 to stay at Inter and Modric 1/12 to stay at White Hart Lane.
