Tottenham v Manchester City Tip

The Argentinian has scored 58 goals in 107 league games for City and remains a class act. Also bang in form.

The first of two mouthwatering Sunday afternoon fixtures sees Spurs entertain the champions at White Hart Lane. The hosts’ prospects seem to hinge to some extent on whether Gareth Bale, Jermain Defoe and Aaron Lennon recover sufficiently from injury to make telling impacts, but I have concerns over the Tottenham defence regardless.

AVB’s boys have conceded in each of their last seven games, including a couple in all of the most recent three. That doesn’t bode well against a Manchester City side who have won eight of their last nine matches across all competitions.

One man in a particularly rich vein of form is Carlos Tevez. The Argentinian star scored a delightful late winner out of nothing in the midweek victory over Wigan to show how full of confidence he currently is.

That strike meant that the 29-year-old has now found the net eight times in his last nine appearances. Against a shaky rearguard I think he is therefore over-priced at best odds of 2/1 (Ladbrokes) in the anytime goalscorer market.
