Tevez Reaches City Stalemate

Tevez going nowhere

The captain has reiterated his desire to leave Manchester but City are in no hurry to sell.

So what next for Carlos Tevez? Motivated by the need to be closer to his family, there is little chance that City’s top scorer is willingly going to remain at Eastlands. In a statement released by the player he spoke of his anguish.

“Living without my children in Manchester has been incredibly challenging for me. Everything I do, I do for my daughters.

“I need them to be happy because my life is about them now. I need to be in a place where they can adapt.

Roberto Mancini seems resigned to losing his captain but only if the price is right. Valued at £40million and with wages reported to be £200,000 a week, who will buy him?

William Hill go 9/4 that he moves to a South American team, but there aren’t any clubs in the region that can afford his price tag. Inter Milan at 4/1 are long term admirers but sporting director Marco Branca admitted the wages demands were beyond the club.
Real Madrid are one of the few teams in Europe that could afford the Argentinean and at 5/2 the Bernabeu is a realistic destination. The big question is whether Jose Mourinho wants the player.

With three years left on his contract and City under no financial pressure to sell, this stalemate could run for a while yet. Perhaps the 10/1 on Tevez being the Premier League’s top scorer next season isn’t so far fetched.
