Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word

On shaky ground

It was a day full of remorse in the Premier League after Luis Suarez, Kenny Dalglish and Mick McCarthy all issued apologies.

After an unsavoury weekend in the Premier League, Luis Suarez and Kenny Dalglish apologised in the wake of the handshake row at Old Trafford. Liverpool’s owners stepped in, trying to avert another PR disaster for their club but is the damage to their striker and manager irreparable?

Kenny Dalglish has been cut from 33/1 to 25/1 (BetVictor) to be the next Premier League manager to leave his post. The bookmakers think the Liverpool legend should be safe in the short term, as another manager in turmoil sways the betting.

Mick McCarthy is 5/6 (Paddy Power) to be the next manager to leave, after his side capitulated to a 5-1 derby defeat at home to West Brom. The result leaves Wolves in the bottom three on goal difference and 8/11 (Boylesports) to be relegated.

As for Luis Suarez, he probably has the most making up to do. On the football pitch his priority is to help Liverpool finish the season in a Champions League place, a 7/2 chance with Betfred. The more optimistic can back the Uruguayan at 400/1 (Bet365) to be the league’s top goalscorer this season.
