Saturday Accumulator

Could there be more gloom for Di Canio but further joy for Redknapp and Ince?

The bottom two battle it out in the Premier League on Saturday and I think West Brom can pile the agony onto Paulo Di Canio as the first part of our 11/1 (Coral) accumulator.

Although the Baggies and the Black Cats have struggled so far in 2013-14 I think the hosts will have a few points in their favour at the Hawthorns. Firstly there is home advantage, secondly Steve Clarke hasn’t alienated his players in the way that his counterpart may have done, and thirdly Albion had a morale boosting result last weekend.

Gareth McAuley pounced for an injury-time equaliser at Craven Cottage that could turn the tide. WBA also have a fine recent record against Sunderland (W6 D1 L0) which should be extended with three points at best odds of 11/10.

After that we delve into the Championship and take two of the early top three to complete our treble. QPR seem an obvious pick to beat Yeovil but the odds (5/6) still seem better than the equivalent you would get for a ‘David versus Goliath’ match in the top flight.

Harry Redknapp’s boys are unbeaten in the league and haven’t even conceded a goal in their last five outings. Contrast that to Yeovil who, after a famous opening day victory, have lost five of their last six, drawing the other game and scoring only twice in the whole sequence.

Finally I’m sticking with Blackpool from last weekend’s accumulator who represent the bargain of the day at 11/5 to beat Leicester. The Foxes are only above the Seasiders on goal difference and home advantage seems to have been ignored by the oddsmakers. Paul Ince’s men have won four on the bounce at Bloomfield Road and haven’t even conceded yet on their own patch.
