Everton (8/11) v Huddersfield:

The boost which the Merseysiders received in midweek from Wayne Rooney with his half-way heroics was huge. That 4-0 victory came out of nowhere and with Sam Allardyce now in the dug-out there will be calming influence to add to the new-found confidence. Huddersfield are having a brutal week having already faced Man City and Arsenal; the Gunners knocked the stuffing out of them with 3 goals in 4 minutes en route to a 5-0 rout.

Stoke (19/20) v Swansea:

The Potters are feeling seriously aggrieved. They were unlucky to lose in the 92nd minute at Palace but then their match against Liverpool was ruined by the referee’s failure to produce a blatant red card for Simon Mignolet. They are playing ok and I expect them to take a sense of injustice out on a Swansea side who just cannot score. No goals in 4 and no wins in 6 makes them firm relegation favourites.

Leverkusen (7/5) v Dortmund:

This one makes it in partly because Dortmund are in crisis having taken just 2 points from a possible 18 culminating in their blowing a 4-0 lead against Schalke. To make things worse Aubameyang was sent off and is now suspended while Mario Gotze picked up an injury which rules him out till New Year. They travel to the form side in Germany who are unbeaten in 8 and primed to overtake their opponents in the table.
