Rafa Sacked: Next Inter Manager Betting

I'll take 'option' sack Rafa

Rafa Benitez has been sacked, check out the next Inter manager betting to see who is favourite to take his place.

It has been confirmed this morning that Inter manager Rafa Benitez has been sacked. After his ‘back me or sack me’ plea, Inter President Moratti went for option two. With echoes of Brian Clough at Leeds, ‘damned’ Rafa couldn’t mould the Champions into a team in his own image. Some Inter fans are counting themselves lucky that Benitez was sacked before Samuel Eto was replaced by Ryan Babel.

Favourite in the next manager betting is, somewhat surprisingly, former AC Milan Manager & Director of Football - Leonardo. Switches of personnel from AC to Inter are not uncommon but Leonardo didn’t cover himself in glory last year and only had a 48% win rate as AC manager. Skybet have him at 4/7 to be installed at Inter.

The ideal man for Massimo Moratti could be Zenit St. Petersburg coach Luciano Spalletti. Skybet have him priced at 7/1 to be next Inter Manager but he is not even halfway through a three year contract at Zenit and the recently crowned Russian Champions are unlikely to let him go. The one thing in favour of this move is the Russian season has ended and would give Zenit time to find a new manager, but why would they?

Fans favourite Jurgen Klinsman is quoted at 12/1 and he is available which is a plus but he had a poor season in charge of Bayern Munich finishing with a career win record of 58% The suspicion remains that his reputation as a player superceeds his reputation as a coach.

Sam Allardyce may be disappointed that he remains unquoted for the job.
