Yuletide Turning for Eagles

Palace are enjoying their longest unbeaten run in the top flight since 1990 and won this fixture 3-0 in April.

I don’t really know how Crystal Palace have ended up as long as a best price 15/4 to win this London derby on Thursday with StanJames, but that price has come in the last 24 hours.

It’s surprising for a number of reasons, not least that the Eagles won this fixture 3-0 when they last met at Selhurst Park as recently as April. Yes Big Sam was in charge then, but Roy Hodgson arguably has them looking an even better side after eight unbeaten matches.

Palace have been particularly dangerous at Selhurst Park where they have scored twice in each of their last six. With the signs there of an improving defence as well now, they should be a tough nut to crack.

As for Arsenal, a record of just two away victories from 9 attempts in the top flight this season tells its own story. The Gunners have already lost 11 league games in 2017 - a record high under Wenger.
