If the Champions League semi-finalists believe everything they've read above themselves since midweek then they could start with a poor attitude in this one against desperate opponents.
It will look like an act of madness to most who watched the Reds destroy Roma in midweek, but football has a habit of punishing any hint of complacency.
That’s a very real danger for Liverpool if they believe some of the hype they’ve been getting this week but it’s only last weekend that they blew a 2-0 lead against bottom club West Brom,
Stoke have marginally more chance of staying up than the Baggies but they really need to win at Anfield to retain that hope. I don’t think they will, but leading at half-time at best odds of 8/1 with Ladbrokes isn’t out of the question.
The Potters have led 4 away league games at the break and been 0-0 in a further 6 so starting matches has not been their worst attribute. If they start with more intent than their hosts as circumstances suggest possible, a temporary upset could be on the cards.
