Saturday Goalscorer Accumulator

We are backing three big guns to fire in fixtures that should present ample opportunities.

With Liverpool and Manchester United at home to ‘smaller’ clubs and Arsenal heading to managerless Crystal Palace, this feels like a good time to back some big names in a goalscorer accumulator. Bet365 offer best odds of 6/1* on Van Persie, Sturridge and Giroud all finding the net at some point in the afternoon.

Starting with Olivier Giroud (11/10) we have a player due a Premier League goal even though he already has four for the campaign, and seven including the Champions League. The Gunners striker has had a joint-highest 31 shots in the top flight with crucially 23 of those efforts coming inside the box; so they are high quality opportunities. He struck against Dortmund in midweek and Palace should be fearful.

Next up we’re backing the Premier League’s current top scorer, Daniel Sturridge, to fire anytime against WBA (20/21). The former Chelsea marksman has seven top flight strikes to his name plus a couple in the Capital One Cup and one for England. The 24-year-old has been close to unstoppable with or without Suarez alongside him.

Finally, we’re siding with the Premier League’s top forward for the past two seasons - Robin Van Persie (8/11). Even though minor injury issues have made things a little stop-start for the Dutchman he has still somehow nabbed 13 goals for club and country in 2013-14. On Saturday he faces a Stoke defence he has struck against eight times in his last six appearances.

*The exact acca odds are 6.08/1 - currently the best price available on the market.
