Rafa is still awaiting new signings amidst the takeover saga at Newcastle. A storm could be brewing at St James's Park if they don't arrive and Burnley do a number on their hosts.
Some may think that the Burnley dream is fading after seven winless league matches but they are still 8th in the table and besides, Newcastle have gone seven winless at home and wake up three points off the bottom.
This all makes a bit of a mockery of Sean Dyche’s team being as long as 3/1 to emerge victorious from St James’s Park but to maximise the value we should really take Betfair’s best price 17/2 on them winning 1-0.
That has been the score in the Clarets’ favour in six of their nine league wins in 2017-18. Moreover, it’s been the result in 6 out of the 15 matches they have played against sides outside of the top six. That statistic really brings home the value we’re getting here.
Finally note that Newcastle now have the worst home record in the division (12pts) while Burnley still have the 6th best away record (17pts).
