The year Leicester City won the title nobody really took them seriously until they won 1-3 at the Etihad. Forget Liverpool for now, the Foxes' are being similarly disregarded by the bookies here in relation to Manchester City.
Having said it’s a weekend full of tough calls, I have little hesitation in making the one bold tip of backing an away team at the Etihad. That’s because value is all we should really be after for long term profit and Leicester City certainly represent that at best odds of 7/1 with BetVictor.
The obvious point to make is that the Foxes have outperformed the champions by four points over nearly half a season, scoring a comparable number of goals but conceding far fewer.
And it’s the latter point which is crucial here. Manchester City ought be having nightmares in anticipation of Jamie Vardy and co getting a run at a repeatedly vulnerable back four who have never looked the same without Laporte and Kompany.
If the side sat 2nd in the table beat those in 3rd - who have lost 4 times in 13 league outings - we shouldn’t be as shocked at these odds suggest.
