Pogba described United's performance on Sunday as disrespectful and he is capable of leading a revival on the big stage that he loves. It could be advantage Liverpool by 10pm this evening.
Clearly it sounds mad to think the team that lost 4-0 to Everton on Sunday could trouble mighty Manchester City, but football is constantly inconsistent and baffling. Even the Toffees lost 2-0 at Fulham before crushing the Red Devils!
When all said and done, Manchester United are great value in the double chance market - to win or draw - at best odds of 7/4 with Coral. That’s saying they are nearly a 1 in 3 shot to avoid defeat; something they have done 15 times out of 16 at Old Trafford this season.
City are being put under real pressure by Liverpool meaning that any slip could be decisive. They’ll miss Kevin De Bruyne and their neighbours will be better this evening. This is the sort of game Paul Pogba shows up for, and he can lead the troops to a result.
