Premier League Top Four Tip: West Ham

David Moyes' boys should feel the least expectation of the sides chasing the Champions League spots. It's a free hit, with any finish in the top seven still excellent. But they have the fixtures in their favour now, especially as Leicester falter.

West Ham have Leicester City firmly in their sights again as the race for the Champions League spots threatens an unlikely conclusion. A victory on Sunday would move the Hammers within two points, with only three games, all against the bottom six, to follow.

Now is the time to back West Ham for the top four at best odds of 7/2 with WilliamHill. The bookies have decided it’s more likely to end as a battle between the Foxes and Liverpool (both 6/5 shots) - but that’s a long term view when this is a two-week race in which the Londoners hold certain, key advantages.

We’ve already flagged Moyes’ team’s friendly run-in - it’s Brighton, West Brom and Southampton after today. The imminent clash with Everton is key, but they are boosted by the 2nd best home record in the Premier League while the Toffees have fallen away from the same race after 1 win in 7 outings. Yes, the Merseysiders are better away, but James Rodriguez remains a huge miss.

Leicester have hit the skids at the wrong time and have Man Utd, Chelsea and Spurs left to face. Throw in the focus on the FA Cup Final, and the 4-2 home defeat to Newcastle looks catastrophic.

To bring Liverpool into the analysis, they still face that re-arranged game at Old Trafford later this week. Fail to win that - United rarely lose - and the champions could be as many as four points behind West Ham with three games remaining.

This battle could take a decisive shift very soon, and the likes of Antonio, Rice and Lingard really fancy this now.
