You never know what Chelsea you're going to get at the moment. Their performance levels even shifted dramatically in-game at the Emirates.
There may be a few bleary eyes when New Year’s Day football kicks off at 12.30pm and Chelsea players may wish they’d been out on the lash after this one. Brighton are well worth a look to take the spoils at best odds of 3/1 with BetVictor.
I’ve been banging the drum for the Seagulls for a fair few weeks, with mixed results, but that means they are still to fulfil their potential this season. It’s amazing that Potter’s players only really had the win at Arsenal to show for their recent accomplished performances, at least until the 2-0 victory over Bournemouth last time out.
That will give them impetus for the visit of top-four opponents. Chelsea won’t stay there if they keep up their recent inconsistency which incredibly has combined wins away to Spurs and Arsenal, with home defeats to Bournemouth, West Ham and Southampton, who are all fighting relegation.
Brighton are just above that lot in the table, and will relish the chance to prove they are superior early in 2020.
