Merseyside Rivals Both On The Up

Liverpool have subtlely adopted a more pragmatic approach which is working in the Premier League. They don't come out all guns blazing but a stronger defence is reaping rewards.

If it wasn’t for Manchester City setting new standards of excellence Liverpool would be getting all the rave reviews. An unbeaten start, 33 points accrued from 13 matches and just 5 goals conceded would see you top and imperious in normal times.

So I can’t see past another Liverpool victory at Anfield in the Merseyside derby but odds of 4/9 on the home win don’t appeal against an improving Everton.

Instead let’s back ‘Half-time: Draw - Full-time: Liverpool’ at best odds of 15/4 with BetVictor.

The Toffees have only lost 1 of their last 7 league matches and achieved a 0-0 draw at Stamford Bridge recently and held Arsenal till the second-half at the Emirates in September.

That’s the sort of match I envisage here. Klopp has the Reds pulling off league results routinely, but in a more measured manner in 2018-19. The title is top priority so expect him to claim three more points, even if it’s a grind against capable neighbours.
