Southampton's upturn in fortunes isn't just down to the new manager. Having a goalscorer return from injury also counts for a lot. Can the under-pressure champions keep the former Red quiet?
All eyes will be on whether Manchester City can bounce back and keep the title race alive as Liverpool threaten to run away with it, against the odds.
The champions could have an easier fixture, travelling to a somewhat resurgent Southampton, who have won 2 of their last 3 fixtures under their new boss.
I suspect City will respond, but we can hedge our bets by backing Danny Ings to score anytime for the hosts at best odds of 11/4 with Bet365.
The Saints’ striker is having a good season despite his club’s lowly position having netted 7 league goals in just 13 top flight appearances.
The former Liverpool man scored twice against Arsenal recently and even found the net at the Etihad in November, albeit in a 6-1 defeat. It wouldn’t matter to us if a similar outcome happened today, although it will surely be much closer and tenser.
