Dragon Stadium Promises Fire
Porto are unbeaten in 24 games in all competitions while Liverpool until recently had a similarly long stretch without defeat. The Portuguese beat Leipzig and Monaco handsomely at home but the Reds can be devastating away.
The Champions League returned with a bang on Tuesday night with Juventus and Spurs playing out a surprisingly entertaining 2-2 draw while Man City cruised to a 4-0 win in Basel.
We could easily see over 3.5 goals again on Wednesday night when Porto entertain Liverpool with Betfair providing best odds of 12/5 on that prospect.
That looks generous when you consider what we saw in the group stages. Porto’s three home games produced 15 goals while Liverpool’s three away clashes matched that total.
These are two sides who attack better than they defend at this elite level and it’s easier to back goals than confidently predict a winner on the night, though Liverpool should progress overall.
