Premier League Preview

Tevez will be conspicuous by his absence.

The summit clash between the Manchester sides grabs all the attention this weekend. Carlos Tevez will be conspicuous by his absence.

Wolves v Swansea:

Sylvan Ebanks-Blake was on the scoresheet the last time these two sides met in October 2008 - he is 7/1 (Totesport) to be first goalscorer for Saturday’s first TV game. The Swans are 3/1 (Boylesports) to claim their first away win against a side who have lost five in a row.

Aston Villa v West Brom:

The last four times these sides have met in the Premier League the final score has been 2-1; that’s a 15/2 (Bet365) prospect in Villa’s favour, and 16/1 (Ladrokes) for WBA. Perhaps betting on exactly three goals in the game is the option - 3/1 with Coral.

Bolton v Sunderland:

Steve Bruce is frequently being described as ‘embattled’ now that his odds on being next manager to leave his post are just 7/4 with PaddyPower. The Trotters are 13/10 (WilliamHill) to bag a first home win; the Black Cats are 5/2 (VictorChandler) for a first away win. The draw is 12/5 with StanJames.

Newcastle v Wigan:

Ryan Taylor scored four of his six goals for Wigan against Newcastle. The Magpies resorted to signing the player to buck that trend; he is 16/1 (Skybet) to open the scoring -this time for the unbeaten hosts. The Latics are 11/2 (Bet365) to rip up the form book.

Liverpool v Norwich:

The Reds have kept just two clean sheets in their last 11 league outings - they are 19/20 WilliamHill) to be the only scorers on Saturday night.  Norwich have one win in their last 34 away games in the top flight; Canaries glory at Anfield is priced at 11/1 with VictorChandler.

Arsenal v Stoke:

Robin Van Persie has scored 23 times in 25 league games in 2011 - his odds of evens (Boylesports) in the ‘anytime goalscorer’ market therefore have to look generous. Stoke find themselves 6/1 (SkyBet) to win this encounter, despite sitting three places above their opponents in the league table.

Fulham v Everton:

In 20 Premier League meetings between these sides, 18 of the matches have ended as home wins. A good omen for the Cottagers - they are 7/5 (VictorChandler) to keep that run going. Louis Saha has scored five in ten against his old side and he’s 7/1 (Coral) in the first goalscorer market.

Man Utd v Man City:

The big one. With 52 league goals between them already this season, from just eight games each, hopes are high for a goal-fest. SportingBet tempt with 11/2 on more than 4.5 goals in the match. In the Community Shield, United trailed at half-time before winning by full-time; a repeat here is 25/1 with SkyBet.

Blackburn v Tottenham:

Steve Kean is 11/8 (PaddyPower) for the chop, and with a march and sit-in protest planned for Sunday by the fans, the end could be nigh. A home win (10/3 Coral) would give him renewed hope, with Spurs 20/21 (Boylesports) to pile on the pressure.

QPR v Chelsea:

Neil Warnock’s side are yet to register a home win since their return to the big time; they are 9/1 (VictorChandler) to end that run in spectacular fashion against their illustrious neighbours. Daniel Sturridge was first goalscorer in each of Chelsea’s last two league games and he’s 9/2  (Bet365) to do it again.
