Wolves got off to a winning start

Only four teams won on the first week of the season; 16 sides are looking for that precious first victory.

Sunderland v Newcastle:

A host of new players have the chance to make themselves an instant derby hero; Conor Wickham is 15/2 to be first goalscorer on his Sunderland debut. Shola Ameobi is 8/1 having scored six in 10 league games against the Mackems.

Arsenal v Liverpool:

Dirk Kuyt scored in the 102nd minute to break Gunners’ hearts back in April; he is 9/1 to be last goalscorer again. Samir Nasri could unexpectedly play for the hosts with his future still up in the air - he is 11/4 to score at some point.

Aston Villa v Blackburn:

Charles N’Zogbia is 17/2 to open the scoring on his home debut for Villa. Rovers can still be picked up at 5/1 to take all three points.

Everton v QPR:

The Toffees can be picked up at 25/1 to inflict the second 4-0 defeat on QPR this season. DJ Campbell is 10/3 to score his first goal for the Hoops at some point in the match.

Swansea City v Wigan:

Wayne Routledge has played for a record seven Premier League clubs without ever scoring in this division. He is 9/2 to open his account on Saturday. It’s 14/5 that Roberto Martinez will celebrate his return to south Wales with a win.

Chelsea v West Brom

Fernando Torres is 15/4 to get this season off to a flyer as first goalscorer here. West Brom are 11/1 to pull off the shock win of the season so far.

Norwich v Stoke:

Lower league goal machine Grant Holt is 13/2 to open the scoring here. It’s 9/1 that Stoke start the season with a second consecutive 0-0 draw.

Wolves v Fulham:

Mick McCarthy is 7/1 to be August Manager of the Month after Wolves began with an away win. Fulham have had 10 clean sheets in their last 13 competitive games; they are 4/1 to win to nil here.

Bolton v Man City:

The Trotters are 4/1 to win at home despite recording a 4-0 victory away to QPR last week. Sergio Aguero is 33/1 to grab a hat-trick to follow his brace off the bench on debut.

Man Utd v Spurs:

Ashley Young is 8/1 to score first on his home debut for the champions. Emmanuel Adebayor is 9/1 in that market despite being yet to sign for Tottenham.
