Premier League Draw Double

The games at Craven Cottage and the Hawthorns look tight and could land us a long odds return.

There are two Premier League matches kicking off at 3pm on Saturday that have draws written all over them; the double is a lucrative 21/2 shot with Betfred.

Fulham entertain Tottenham in a match full of sub-plots. Jol and Berbatov face their old team on the one hand while Dembele and Dempsey do the same on the other. Both teams are missing a clutch of important players so neither can really use that as an excuse.

It’s surprising that the Cottagers are winless in six because I don’t think many would regard them as being on bad form. Indeed, draws with Chelsea, Arsenal and Everton in that run would suggest there isn’t too much wrong.

Spurs have had two significant home wins this week to get back on track and in that context I think AVB would possibly settle for a point at Craven Cottage. Having kept only one clean sheet all season, it may be the best they can hope for.

Secondly, we have belligerent Stoke heading to high-flying WBA but with a sense that the momentum is changing slightly at these two clubs. The Potters have taken 10 points from a possible 12 and have actually won their last three trips to the Hawthorns without conceding a goal.

If that sounds like a case for the away win then we must also consider the other side of the coin. Albion have won six out of seven PL fixtures on their own patch while Stoke are still yet to take the spoils on the road. But Tony Pulis has seen his boys draw precisely half their top flight matches and that seems most likely again this weekend.
