Premier League Accumulator: QPR & Reading
The bottom two are victims of circumstances more than poor play. It’s too early to write them off from a betting perspective.
The old adage goes that there is no point in looking at the league table until ten matches have been played. However, it is still the most published piece of football data and therefore has a bearing on the betting.
QPR and Reading find themselves at the bottom of the pile but a double on them both winning this weekend pays a handsome 18/1 with BetVictor.
We’ve already discussed how QPR’s predicament is more to do with the turnover in players, rather than the actually quality in the squad. They’ve improved in each game this season and look overpriced at 18/5 (BetVictor) to beat a West Brom team artificially high in the league.
Reading find themselves 19th in the league but a strange set of circumstances has conspired against them. The Royals had a 23-day gap between their second and third league games and that lack of sharpness was evident when soundly beaten by Tottenham.
Recent performances have been much more encouraging. They lost against West Brom in a game that could have gone either way, and then held Newcastle to a merited 2-2 draw.
They travel to the Liberty Stadium to face a Swansea team struggling to recapture their early season form. Three consecutive defeats, with seven goals conceded and none scored, should be a real concern to Michael Laudrup. At 33/10 (BetVictor) an away win for Reading looks the value.
