Porto v Malaga Tip

The Spaniards are under-valued by the bookies due to a lack of experience but they showed what they could do in the group stages.

A really difficult game to call with perhaps the only thing you could say with real confidence being that it will surely be finely poised heading into the return leg on the Costa del Sol.

Porto are 19 matches unbeaten - although a lot of their domestic fixtures are quite routine - but more importantly, incredibly difficult to overcome on their own patch even for Europe’s finest. Chelsea were the last visitors to triumph here, with a 1-0 success back in 2009.

But on the other hand, Malaga are also yet to taste to defeat in this their first season at the top table. They proved their credentials by finishing their group section above both Milan and Zenit St Petersburg with something to spare. The Anchovies drew away to both their main rivals in Group C and I would back them to achieve the same in Portugal.

The score when Malaga headed to the San Siro was 1-1 and I think that’s the most likely outcome tonight between two teams who should be pretty evenly matched. BetVictor offer us the best odds on this eventuality at 15/2.
