Emotions are running high in Glasgow and Celtic currently hold the upper hand after a highly-charged 1-0 Scottish Cup win over their local rivals last night.

Tensions are running so high between Rangers and Celtic at the moment that it’s just as well they don’t face each other every week. It’s more like every other week. In the latest clash, Celtic again emerged victorious with a 1-0 Scottish Cup replay win that will be remembered primarily for its off field shenanigans and general ill-discipline.

Three Rangers players were sent off, including El-Hadji Diouf after the final whistle, and Celtic manager Neil Lennon had to be restrained from Rangers manager-in-waiting Ally McCoist. Interestingly, Celtic are now just 13/8 with WilliamHill to win the Scottish FA Cup having made the quarter finals, but slightly longer at 15/8 to win the CIS Cup, where they are already in the final. The difference is that arch-rivals Rangers still lie in wait in that competition.

The Ibrox side are 10/3 to exact revenge in the CIS and 11/8 for the SPL title, in which they sit five points behind with two games in hand. Betfred has them as 66/1 outsiders to win the Europa League and a season without silverware is seen as considerably more likely at 13/8 with PaddyPower.

After last night’s drama the same firm see a domestic treble for Neil Lennon’s team as an 11/4 prospect. Angry Rangers fans may prefer a punt on them ending empty-handed at 9/1 with WilliamHill.
