Fulham v Tottenham

Jol remains popular with Spurs fans

Martin Jol should be well-received by the fans of the club he managed from 2004-2007

This really should be one of the most enticing fixtures of the weekend with two teams on display who like to play football. Spurs are on excellent form; unbeaten in the league since August against a Fulham outfit who always look a threat with the ball, especially at Craven Cottage. It should be close, and not that easy to predict; the nearest I can come to a ‘sure thing’ is just to bet on there being more than three goals in the match, at odds of 9/4 with Bet365.

Spurs are always reliable for a healthy contribution in any total goals bet. They have found the net at least twice in each of their last seven league matches. Rafael van der Vaart is looking to get on the scoresheet for the sixth consecutive outing. Adebayor is actually overdue a goal while Bale rediscovered his touch in front of the sticks with a brace against QPR last weekend.

Most of Fulham’s best players appear to be their strikers as well. Andy Johnson is back at the peak of his form after a delectable double against Wisla Krakow on Thursday night. That made it eight European goals for the former Palace favourite, and 11 in all competitions. With Zamora, Dempsey and Duff piling forward, the Cottagers looked well capable of scoring more than the four they declared on.

And the attacking options don’t stop there for Martin Jol. Both Mousa Dembele and Bryan Ruiz, who scored a super strike against Everton recently, come back into contetion having been suspended and ineligible respectively.

Neither team has had many clean sheets of late, and both tend to adopt the philosophy that attack is the best form of defence. Bet365 provide us with decent value, offering 9/4 on more than three goals in the game.
