Fulham v QPR Tip

We can be sure that Redknapp will urge his team to attack at Craven Cottage with draws of little use to QPR.

I’ve commented before on the largely static nature of many football markets and the fact that odds-makers can sometimes be slow to react to developments. We can often find value, for example, when a player suddenly bursts onto the scene or makes a big impact at a new club. A case in point is Andros Townsend.

The Tottenham loanee has somewhat slipped under the radar but his arrival at Loftus Road on transfer deadline-day is already looking like one of Redknapp’s best pieces of business.

The 21-year-old was named man of the match on debut against Norwich and hasn’t really looked back since. He scored in both of QPR’s most recent outings against Sunderland and Villa and yet he is still available at a best price of 7/1 (BetVictor) to make it three in a row against Fulham.

If we need any further encouragement the stats suggest that Townsend isn’t just scoring from isolated attempts. He had three shots against Villa and four versus Sunderland, so we shouldn’t be surprised that he is getting his name on the scoresheet.

Considering all this, I would say he should be more like a 4/1 shot in the anytime goalscorer betting and indeed a number of the bookies agree with me. With BetVictor out on their own at sevens we have found our value.
