We look at the most prolific goalscorers in the Premier League and see if they make decent value bets.
The old adage goes that a regular goalscorer is worth their weight in gold. But are they worth backing with the bookmakers? We have looked at the top scorers in the Premier League this season to see if any of them have been undervalued by the odds makers.
To measure the quality of the goal scorer we have used the metric of ‘minutes per goal’. This is simply the number of minutes the player has been on the pitch divided by the number of goals he has scored. Using this measurement allows us to appreciate the value of the super sub or a player whose season has been curtailed because of injury.
We are using league goals only, and this minimum threshold is 10 goals.
