Tubbs Thumping

In a glorious repeat of the legendary 1988 final, Wimbledon can carry a goal threat through the top scorer in their division.

In just about the most romantic FA Cup tie imaginable, Wimbledon face Liverpool on Monday night in a repeat of the famous 1988 final when the ‘Crazy Gang’ lifted the trophy against all the odds.

Another upset would in some ways be in even more dramatic this time around, but the Dons do at least boast the top goalscorer in League Two - Matt Tubbs has 15 goals in all competitions and is well worth a look at a best price of 4/1 (Betfred) to score anytime.

The on loan striker from Bournemouth struck twice in Wimbledon’s 3-1 victory over York in FA Cup Round One and he has also found the net in both of his post-Christmas outings.

Tubbs has been an FA Cup hero before having scored eight in 10 appearances for Crawley between 2010 and 2012. The 30-year-old helped the then Conference side to the 5th round in 2011.

He has pedigree, he has form, and this fixture is laced with potential for the unexpected.
