Sans Pellegrino Woe?

Everyone is letting Southampton players off the hook if they think sacking the manager suddenly makes them a good side again.

Some pundits are saying that Wigan’s chances have gone along with the sacking of Mauricio Pellegrino but I’ll still back them for value at best odds of 3/1 with BetFred.

Yes Southampton may get a shot in the arm from the arrival of Mark Hughes but are people forgetting that his Stoke side crashed out to League One Coventry in January.

The Latics have already knocked out Bournemouth, West Ham and mighty Man City so there is nothing to fear in another Premier League struggler.

They showed their professionalism in winning 1-0 in midweek away to Bradford to keep their promotion hopes firmly on track. A side with that attitude and a proud FA Cup tradition shouldn’t be discounted.
