Rafa Goes To Hull

Even if much of Everton's best side does play, they have not been up to scratch, or up for the fight.

If you’re hunting a giant-killing on FA Cup 3rd weekend you could do worse than start at the MKM Stadium. Hull City may not be taking the Championship by storm, but they should see Everton’s visit as an ideal opportunity to claim a big scalp.

The Rafa Benitez - Blues alliance looked dubious from day one, and, after a bright start, it has gone swiftly downhill from there. Everton have won just 1 of their last 12 league matches, and the performances have largely matched the results.

Rafa’s job could be hanging by a thread, and an ignominious exit here would not help his cause. That’s a real possibility though with the 61-year-old potentially missing the likes of Richarlison, Mina and Townsend, while he has fallen out with Digne, and may not be able to risk Calvert-Lewin.

Grant McCann will see this only as an opportunity to lift his club. The Tigers went unbeaten in six before two narrow away defeats. At 19/4 with Skybet, they’ll fancy their chances.
