Hornets Stung Back Into Action
Javi Gracia takes charge of his first game at Watford and a change at the top, for better or worse, will probably focus a few minds for this FA Cup clash as everyone is suddenly playing to impress the new boss.
Watford have been well and truly in the doldrums but the new manager effect could well see them deliver in the FA Cup at best odds of 10/3 with Bet365.
While the decision to axe Marco Silva may prove dubious in the long term, the immediate impact of fresh blood is there to see time and again. Most recently in the Premier League it happened in Game 1 for Carvalhal at Swansea City - against Watford.
But just as importantly, the odds don’t make sense here because Southampton are winless in 11 league games themselves and remain 4 points worse than their visitors.
The Hornets won 2-0 at St Mary’s back in September and those happy memories combined with a change at the helm may fire them back to better times.
