Clarke In The Shop Window Could Scare Gunners

The top scorer in League One has handed in a transfer request and can attract suitors in the FA Cup tie with Arsenal.

Coventry City star Leon Clarke handed in a transfer request 10 days ago and a trip to the Emirates Stadium will provide the perfect opportunity to showcase his talents.

The well-travelled striker has already played for 14 clubs but his prowess for the Sky Blues can’t really be doubted. The 28-year-old found the net 27 times in 2013 and is currently League One’s top scorer with 18 in all competitions in 2013-14.

With Arsenal poised to play a number of reserves on Friday, Clarke looks like a bargain at best odds of 5/1 (Ladbrokes) to score anytime. He has already been an FA Cup hero this season, claiming last minute winners against Hartlepool in round two and Barnsley in round three.

City manager Steven Pressley says he certainly still expects his prize asset to play against the Gunners so we should back the wantaway forward.
