Cahill: Would love to play in another FA Cup Final

By the last 16 of the FA Cup the fans are dreaming of Wembley and home advantage can be telling.

Everton, Norwich and Millwall all kick-off home FA Cup ties at 3pm on Saturday and the three of them to win is a best price 7/1 shot with Coral.

If we start with our ‘banker’ at Goodison Park. Everton are 15/8 to beat Blackpool of the Championship and spirits should be at a seasonal high point in the home dressing room. The Toffees are unbeaten in six in all competitions and their last two outings on their own patch saw memorable victories over Chelsea and Manchester City. The Tangerines are certainly no mugs, but quality should tell in the end. Surely David Moyes highlights the FA Cup as the primary chance for glory each season? Only complacency can let them down.

Secondly, we look to Norwich (10/11) to continue their fine season against Leicester City of the second tier. Last summer not many people would have bet on the Canaries sitting higher in the Premier League (8th) than the Foxes do in the Championship (12th) in February. But Paul Lambert has worked wonders at Carrow Road and we simply have no reason to expect a slip-up here. Norwich have won six of their last eight across all competitions with a draw against Chelsea also thrown in. Leicester are much more inconsistent, even against lower quality opponents.

Finally we target a surprise, taking Millwall to see off Bolton at the New Den (9/5). The Lions boast one of this season’s FA Cup hotshots in Darius Henderson. The 30-year-old has bagged four on the run to the fifth round, and 16 in just 22 appearances in all competitions. Kenny Jacket’s side have looked lively lately with a replay win at Southampton in the last round an obvious highlight. They could very easily have triumphed at Brighton on Tuesday night as well, but were forced to settle for 2-2 in the end.

Owen Coyle may rest a few first team players with the battle to avoid relegation from the top flight still the priority, and seemingly taking its toll.  The home defeat to Wigan in the last match was disastrous. Kevin Davies is definitely out injured, and he’s the sort of experienced, physical presence that will be sorely missed on such a tough assigment.  A minor upset could beckon.
