Sparta Prague v Southampton Preview

Sparta Prague v Southampton Preview

Sparta Prague might have more points but have already lost 3-0 to Southampton and rank poorly in shot metrics for and against.

Thursday evening sees the top two in Group K go head to head but the table doesn’t reflect their true merits.

Sparta Prague lead the group on nine points but it’s Southampton who have shone. The Saints won 3-0 last time the teams met and arguably haven’t gotten the rewards their play deserves. Southampton rank third in the Europa League in shots conceded and third in shots taken, giving them an overall shot count of +7 per game.

Sparta Prague are miles away from those numbers and have eked out results with poor underlying metrics. The Czech’s are ranked 35/48 in shots conceded and 47/48 in shots taken, leaving them with a shot count of -5 per game.

Home advantage will even things up slightly but Southampton are the better team and can win at 23/20 (Betfred).
