Netherlands Euro 2012 Odds
The World Cup runners-up were almost unstoppable in qualifying and will be desperate for some silverware.
Netherlands
FIFA Ranking: 4
Qualifying Campaign: W9 D0 L1
Average points per game: 2.7
Average goals scored: 3.7
Average goals conceded: 0.8
Summary:
Sailed through qualifying only losing their last game to Sweden when top-spot was already assured. Essentially the same team that were runners-up in the World Cup, they must be considered one of the tournament favourites. Under Bert van Marwijk, the Netherlands have lost only two competitive matches, the World Cup final and that dead-rubber against Sweden at the end of Euro 2012 qualifying. The Dutch coach enjoys an enviable record in competitive matches of P25 W23 D0 L2.
Prediction:
With the attacking trio of Wesley Sneijder, Arjen Robben and Robin van Persie there are plenty of goals in the team. This could mean that Klaas-Jan Huntelaar finds himself on the bench despite scoring 12 goals in qualifying. After averaging 3.7 goals in qualifying, at 5/4 (Bet365) they should be able to score more than six goals at Euro 2012.
