Euro 2012: Group B Betting: Denmark
The 1992 champions are in what many regard as the 'Group of Death.' All their rivals will see three points against the Danes as essential.
Denmark
Odds to win group: 18/1 (bodog)
Odds to qualify: 5/1 (bodog)
No whipping boys?
The Danes are strong favourites to finish bottom against three footballing heavyweights but they got the better of Portugal - opponents again here - in qualifying. If they can repeat the trick, a third-place finish at odds of 11/4 (BetVictor) is appealing.
Dennis the menace?
Veteran Rommedahl is still an important player for Morten Olsen and will still get into dangerous areas in the 4-3-3 formation that they play. Nicklas Bendther is favourite to top score for Denmark (7/2 Boylesports) but Rommedahl scored as many as him in qualifying (3) and is better value at 9/1 (Bet365).
Could be outclassed?
Despite the positives in qualifying, the 1992 champions may well be outclassed if their superstar opponents ‘show up.’ Given that the bookies don’t give them a prayer, odds of 7/2 (Ladbrokes) that they don’t get a point seem almost contradictory.
