Euro 2012 Odds: England 1/50 To Qualify

Frank Lampard

England are heavy odds- on to qualify for Euro 2012 after a win over Wales. It was also a good weekend for the Republic of Ireland.

England extinguished the Welsh fire in the first fifteen minutes of their encounter to move top of Group G. Level on ten points with Montenegro, England are 1/7 to win the group, cut from 1/6.

Skybet make England a 1/50 chance to qualify for Euro 2012, with a best placed runner up spot or playoffs still available if they don’t top the group. It was also a good result for the Betting Bias football tipster as both selections on the game won, including Frank Lampard to score first at 7/1.

In Group B, the Republic of Ireland gained a hard fought win over Macedonia, with first half strikes for Aidy McGeady and Robbie Keane sealing the three points. However the best result was Russia drawing in Armenia. This means Slovakia, Russia and Ireland are all locked together on ten points at the top of the group.

With results going their way, Trappatoni’s men are now a 3/1 chance to win Group B, in from 9/2; and are 11/8 shots to qualify for Euro 2012 by any means.

It wasn’t such a good weekend for Northern Ireland who slipped to a 2-1 defeat in Serbia. With Italy run away leaders of the group, second place is the best they can hope for. The bookmakers are not optimistic, giving them odds of 16/1 to qualify for the Euros.
