Euro 2012: Latest Qualification Odds
England failed to impress with a 2-2 home draw with Switzerland. The Republic of Ireland fared better, winning 2-0 away to Macedonia.
England’s blip in dropping points at home to Switzerland on Saturday looks unlikely to prove too costly according to the bookies. Bet365 make Fabio Capello’s side 1/14 to line-up in Poland/Ukraine next summer despite the disappointing 2-2 draw at Wembley. The picture would have looked considerably worse had the home side failed to recover from an early 0-2 deficit and if Montenegro had improved upon their 1-1 home draw with Bulgaria. Both teams now have 11 points from five matches played in Group G with Montenegro trailing England on goal difference.
Meanwhile, the Republic of Ireland definitively improved their prospects with a 0-2 win in Macedonia that leaves them tied on 13 points in Group B alongside Russia and Slovakia. Robbie Keane bagged both goals to take his international tally to 51. Giovanni Trapattoni’s side are 4/7 with bet365 to qualify for Euro 2012.
