England Unmoved By Missing Rooney

Wayne Looney

The bookmakers are unconcerned by Wayne Rooney’s absence from the early stages of Euro 2012, with England static as 9/1 (Bet365) fourth favourites.

England booked their place at Euro 2012 with a draw in Montenegro on Friday night. It came at a price, with Wayne Rooney missing at least one game of the tournament after his sending off. Capello’s team are unmoved in the betting at 9/1 (Bet365) fourth favourites.

The Republic of Ireland face Armenia in their last game, needing at least a draw to reach the playoffs. Automatic qualification would need Russia to lose against Andorra. Blue Square make Ireland 6/5 to reach Euro 2012.

In Group I, Scotland still have destiny in their own hands, needing to match the Czech Republic’s result in their final group game. The problem for Scotland is they travel to World Champions Spain; they are 16/1 (Boylesports) to win on Tuesday night.

In the outright betting for Euro 2012, Spain are 3/1 favourites with Ladbrokes followed by Germany 4/1 and Holland 6/1, both with Bet365.
