England Drift After Rooney Ban

Rooney Ban

The England striker has been suspended for three games meaning he will miss the group stages of Euro 2012.

It was not the news Fabio Capello wanted to hear after UEFA handed a three-match ban to Wayne Rooney after his sending off against Montenegro. Although the FA can contest the decision, it looks likely that he will miss all of England’s group games at Euro 2012. William Hill have reacted by pushing England out to 11/1, from 9/1, to win the tournament.

In other Euro news, the Republic of Ireland are 4/9 (Paddy Power) to reach the finals after being drawn against Estonia in the play-offs. Giovanni Trapattoni’s team have also been cut in the outright betting with most firms showing 66/1 but Boylesports standout at 100/1.
