City Slip Gives Tottenham Hope
Tottenham are 9/4 to finish fourth after last night’s defeat heaped more pressure onto Roberto Mancini and his team.
It was not just the Kop who were in raptures last night. There was probably a part of north London that cheered every Liverpool goal just as loudly. Tottenham lie only three points behind Man City with a game in hand as they compete for that lucrative Champions League spot. Spurs are now 9/4 with Bet365 to grab fourth place having been 10/3 on Monday morning.
Manager Roberto Mancini has been quoted in the press saying that the defeat was his fault. Perhaps a ploy to take the pressure off his players. According to the bookmakers it could harm the Italian instead. His tenure at Eastlands may hinge on qualification for the Champions League and Skybet saw fit to trim his odds to 5/4 that he is not in charge on the first day of next season.
